HUMAN RIGHTS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF HISTORICAL ANALOGICAL IUSNATURALISM
Synopsis
Twenty years after completing the text that gave rise to the first edition of this book (2001), we have finished preparing this second edition. Since the print run of this work originally published by Editorial Porrúa and the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes has been exhausted for years, and because it is frequently requested by professors and students, and because we consider it both current and relevant, we decided to prepare this second edition. We have left the structure of the work fundamentally intact; however, in terms of content, we have added some topics and updated others. In terms of form, we have changed some aspects of the footnotes, adapting them to the way we have been citing in recent years. References have also been increased.
The book concludes with some reflections motivated by a thought of the now saint of the Catholic Church, Óscar Arnulfo Romero, who, as I was finishing writing this book, was celebrating the twentieth anniversary of his martyrdom (24. III.1980). I would like to close this note remembering Pedro Casaldáliga, a Claretian religious born in Catalonia, who for many years was bishop of São Félix, Mato Grosso, Brazil, and who died last August 7, 2020, when I was finishing the preparation of this edition. He dedicated his work to the defense of the dignified life of the poorest, to the defense of their most basic rights.
