REINVENTING OUR IDENTITY AS OLD WOMEN: Body, sexuality and resilience
Synopsis
The book Reinventing Our Identity as Old Women. Cuerpo, sexualidad y resiliencia shows the signs and judgments of age in the cultural narrative, one in which are interwoven the symbolic elements that construct us as caregivers of others and a conception of ugliness and waste of our old age. Sexuality among the elderly is considered taboo, denied, not named and even considered a kind of stigma or perversion. In this reflection, accompanied by our sisters/peers, resilience is the capacity to overcome our condition of otherness, of difference in front of that mystique of youth and to reinvent ourselves as women who have recovered the joy of being old women, subjects of erotic and protagonist desires.
