The subject of municipal government websites in Mexico has been little studied, despite being of considerable interest to public administration theorists. It seems that some important obstacles for its study could be, among others, the lack of directories or complete and updated lists of the digital addresses of the websites, which would avoid the need for a manual search. Another limitation has been the failure to take advantage of techniques and tools already available to automate or semi-automate the exhaustive analysis of the more than 2,400 Mexican municipalities. Therefore, this book is aimed primarily at professionals, researchers and students of public administration, informatics and computing, as well as entrepreneurs who develop and market information and communication technology (ict) products and services for municipal governments and governmental entities in general.
