ANATEMA: The conquest of Texas

Aguascalientes, blessed land, where an infamous world ended and another, free and full of opportunities, began. Nothing was written. Nothing was known. Aguascalientes, beginning and end of old, wise races, that in no way intended to pass to posterity, to history, simply to continue existing, day by day, in the journey to nowhere that is life. The eternal journey in which we all get lost, from which we never return. Indians, mestizos, Spaniards, all devoured by the insatiable Altísimo. Merciless, haughty, unjust, merciless... Greek, Aztec...? Poor Chichimecas! Lucky? They didn't think so, they lived with difficulty. Happy? Not happy either. Simply men. And in the end, what remains? To paraphrase the enlightened poet: they are dust, but their life had meaning; dust they are, but dust in love. Let us love them as if they were ourselves. That will be our revenge.
