JUAN REYES UNZUETA: Intergenerational dialogue with a unique musician
Synopsis
From the research project Recent history of music education at the higher level in Mexico, registered before the General Direction of Research and Graduate Studies of the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes (uaa) with the code PIE17-1, different academics and students have joined the task of documenting the life of some music degrees in our country, and their protagonists, to respond to the need to know, organize and interpret their trajectory and trends, in relation to the current historical context (Carbajal-Vaca, 2021).
The creation of the uaa's Music Department in 2009, along with other actions of its members, has contributed to music education and the cultural development of the entity. Maestro Juan Reyes Unzueta, who is one of the first professors of this degree, has played an important role in the training of guitar students. Arturo Gómez Romo considers that his teacher has made academic and dissemination proposals that have enriched the cultural environment of the society of Aguascalentense and surrounding regions, so when he took the research course during his bachelor's degree, he considered it valuable to document his trajectory.
