Synopsis

Since the beginning of the industrial era, there has been constant evolution, always with the intention of improving the systems and production processes of organizations, with the purpose of achieving the competitiveness required to remain in the market and develop. On the other hand, we encounter the term sustainability, which has been subject to different interpretations by scholars, with the problem of the real meaning being diluted into other meanings based on the context that governs them. Research refers to this concept when sustainability is considered as the optimal use of resources, but with the condition that the organization's development is achieved without the resources being at risk of disappearing due to misuse and abuse. An organization with sustainable practices in its operations ensures its development and competitiveness over those that do not have these principles well established.
With this in mind, the researchers participating in this book present the results of their investigations, aimed at establishing practices that determine the foundations for the overall development of organizations, based on good performance. First, with the title "Impact of Leaders to Promote the Improvement of the Organization's Management System in MSMEs of Aguascalientes, Mexico," the importance of leadership is analyzed for quality systems to be implemented throughout the organization and impact its competitiveness. The second chapter, Impact of the supply chain on the efficiency and competitiveness of microenterprises in Aguascalientes, highlights the importance of this factor in companies with fewer than ten employees and how the supply chain significantly impacts the success or failure of the organization, with after-sales service and procurement control being the supply chain factors that most influence the organization's efficiency. The third, Geographic Characterization of Coffee Production in Oaxaca, Mexico, proposes a solution to the problem of cultivating a crop that, by its nature, requires intensive labor during the planting and harvesting stages. In the fourth chapter, Impact of Supplier Management on the Performance of SMEs (Florencia, Caquetá), the case of suppliers of inputs to the organization is presented, which, when their management is good, makes it possible to obtain inputs of excellent quality at very competitive prices.
