SOME PHILOSOPHICAL ISSUES
Synopsis
Making a new edition of a book is always something gratifying, as it somehow means that the edition has been completed and that interest in the subject matter remains. Seven years ago, prompted by a very beautiful book from the University of Oxford, Dr. Víctor González and the author had the idea to create a collection of introductory books on the thoughts of the researchers from the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. It was meant to be a link between research and students. It was about spreading knowledge and, above all, it had to be focused on young people. At that time, the idea of zombies was very much in vogue, as it somehow represented the spirit of the age, the zeitgeist, as some would say. The back cover was drafted, explaining the intention of the collection, and it appears in almost all the titles. We started with four, one of them being the present one.
Reviewing the previous edition to draft the new issues, it is evident that the book itself is a very established path, as one issue leads to another and so on until the conclusion that justifies the dedication. So introducing new ideas or themes would complicate the work, which is why it was decided to create a sort of second section titled "New Issues" and place them at the end of the previous ones. These new issues aim to emphasize some current topics, such as post- and transhumanism, death, and the dissolution of the subject. So, the old book published seven years ago now has a renewed, updated version, and all that remains is to thank everyone who made this publication possible, including, of course, the readers who have undoubtedly reflected on the problems of philosophy and for whom this new edition is intended.
