VERSAS Y DIVERSAS: CONTEMPORARY MEXICAN LESBIAN POETRY EXHIBITION
Synopsis
This is an unprecedented book: for the first time in Mexico, and possibly in all of Latin America, it brings together the work of fifty poets who sing of love between women. Authors of several generations, from the precursors, such as Rosamaría Roffiel and Reyna Barrera, to young women born at the end of the nineties, recognize in these poems their lesbian being and that of their ancestors, the struggles to be and to show themselves from the private to the public, with all the forms and rhythms, with all the wisdom of youth and the freshness of experience. That is Versas y diversas. A sample of contemporary Mexican lesbian poetry, a community of women gathered in their art of verse to tell us about their existence from the diversity and diversity, with the hope that this book is a contribution to continue creating safe spaces to live and share in freedom.
