THE METAPHYSICS OF THE LIBERALS: HISTORY AND PROGRESS ACCORDING TO VICENTE RIVA PALACIO, IGNACIO MANUEL ALTAMIRANO AND IGNACIO RAMÍREZ “EL NIGROMANTE”.
Synopsis
The text we present here is the product (of the eternal necessity) of a reflection and a philosophical critique applied to the Mexican authors of the XIX century. These, of course, have been studied by multiple philosophers of the XX and XXI century with different approaches, but few studies have become a philosophical critique of the thought of the Mexicans of the XIX century, many of the analyses remaining in the descriptive.
Therefore, in this text we do not present a monographic study or another link for a “history of philosophy” in Mexico. What we present here is a theory-interpretation-critique of the thought on “history” and “progress” of three specific intellectuals: Vicente Riva Palacio, Ignacio Manuel Altamirano and Ignacio Ramírez.
