EL ANALYSIS OF THE EMOTIONAL CONTENT OF MUSIC AND HOW TO USE IT FOR EXPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE

This work is intended to be a textbook of musical analysis applied to performance. However, the user will realize that its usefulness transcends this purpose. Firstly, the method of analysis can be applied to composition as well as to teaching and dissemination of music. And, secondly, because it proposes an innovative method of analysis whose objective is to decode the emotional meaning of music, it has been necessary to present an extensive review of the models and empirical research that support this proposal. For this reason, in addition to being a textbook, my purpose is that the reader finds passages of scientific content that lead him to broaden his vision of the relationship between music, science, the brain and emotions, and motivate him to reflect on his own being and the origin of the cognitive and affective capacities that make him a member of a unique species and allow him to understand the close kinship with the other species of animals with whom he cohabits this planet.
